BSA Gold Star – Five Speed Road Touring Gearbox
The Nova BSA 5 Speed Road Gearbox offers more practical gearing than our close ratio 5 speed, making it a far more enjoyable gearbox to use on the road. In summary it incorporates a lower first gear, a wider gap between 4th and top and a wider overall spread across the gearbox.
Designed to fit into the BSA pre unit gearbox shell, either standard with layshaft support bushes or RRT2 type using needle rollers. It is possible to convert the standard case to use needle bearings by replacing the standard layshaft bushes. Instructions can be found by clicking here.
It comprises of all the internal components for conversion to a five speed gearbox, the only original parts retained are the selector shaft and the selector pawl mechanism which connects directly to the gear lever.
The RRT2 speedo drive and standard kick start ratchet gear are retained, so that the gearbox may be used for both road and racing use.
Superfinished in house as standard.
