The Nova Hayabusa Starter Clutch is primarily designed to protect the starter motor and gear train from damage caused by low battery power. It may also help to avoid damage in the case of an involuntary reverse caused by spinning a car. However this will be dependant on the speed and duration of the spin!!!
By introducing a slipping element into the sprag gear in the upper starter train a measure of protection is introduced.
The arrangement is available as a sprag gear with outer cover which will work with the standard inner cover, or with a new billet machined hard anodised inner cover to complete the look.
Also available are a lower ratio bottom idler gear shaft and starter clutch gear.

TReplacement gear for the standard Hayabusa crankshaft starter. We supply the gear only and not the complete crankshaft starter clutch assembly.
Designed for the 1999-2007 Suzuki GSX 1300R Hayabusa this low ratio starter gear pair helps to turn the engine over more easily. A must have on any big engine with a lot of compression.
The lower ratio amplifies the torque of the starter motor, and allows it to spin a little faster.
