A great bit of feedback from Ian , after a year with the Nova Racing ktm690 gearbox. Back to the wide ratio gearset for the 2012 KTM 690 Enduro R: Purchased 1 year ago (May 2016) and, apart from the delays from delivery of KTM parts, other breakages – not gearbox related – and holidays it’s been in service for the year . For reference the bike snapped the original countershaft at 51570 miles, the replacement Nova set fitted (and other damaged KTM internals replaced) 20th May 2016. The replacement was a straight forward install like for like with gasket set, and other repairs made at the same time. The bike now has ~66500 miles, is used to commute and ride occasional green lanes throughout the year, no time off for rain, snow or ice. I don’t race, I maintain and repair as necessary, oil changes are 3k and filters every 6k. I can happily report the gearbox has not missed a single gear all year. There have been a sum total of zero missed changes, no dropping into neutral from second, no false neutrals and every gear change has been slick, predictable and reliable. Performance wise on the original gearset I was having to run a larger front sprocket to cope with the dual carriageways on the commute, causing off road issues for slow speed work on the green lanes. With the Nova set I am back on the original gear ratios, and happy to use the dual carriageways / motorways and green lanes. Feedback is really Important to us at Nova Racing so thanks Ian.

Nova Racing's good friend Josh Daley is back from his second year competing at the iom tt , heres what he had to say: Josh Daley: “I was over the moon to win my first bronze replica in the first Supersport race and with my fastest ever lap it was a great way to start the week. The damp patches meant the first lap was all about having a steady run to see where they were but when I tried to avoid one at Guthrie’s, I nearly clipped my shoulder on the bank on the inside which meant I drifted wide and lost a bit of drive up the hill. After that, I kept my eye on the conditions and the warning flags and increased my pace throughout.” “The boys were doing the fuel stop for the first time but they did a great job and the last lap felt really good so to lap at over 117mph was very pleasing and, hopefully, the bronze replica is the first of many. My final practice lap on Wednesday was very strong too and I was really looking forward to the second race on Thursday but the weather had other ideas so we’ll have to wait until TT2018 to have another go. I’d like to thank all the team for their hard work and my sponsors for making it all possible.” Check him out in the British Supersport championship.

It was a great weekend for Ritchie Thornton on his Kawasaki ZX7R at Snetterton with Thundersport GB with 3 wins out of 4 races. Ritchie recently purchased Nova's close ratio gearbox for the ZX7R and these are his thoughts: Just to let you know I got the engine repaired and that meant getting to put the near gearbox through its tests properly this time. We were at Snetterton and it certainly did not disappoint. The longer second gear was perfect for laying the power down out of the tight bends leading onto the two big straights which by the time the bike was upright it was into the closer ratio gears. I also got my quickshifter fitted again which last year I could not set the cut out time any less than 100 milliseconds without it missing on the standard gears. The longer first gear I was thinking might be a bother on the race starts, but it made it easier to control laying the power down on take-off. Awesome results and here's to the next round at Cadwell park this weekend. http://www.novaracing.co.uk/ProductKawasakZX7CloseRatioGearbox.html https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFDX6qaPwRU http://www.ritchie71.com/index.php?controller=post&action=view&id_post=22
